TYPES OF BABY SLING CARRIERS

JOEY SLING, BABY BJORN CARRIERS AND OTHER TYPES OF BABY SLING CARRIERS

There are many types of baby sling carriers on the market ranging from the baby bjorn carrier to a myriad of baby wraps, baby pouch carriers, baby mei tie, ring slings and so on. But which one is best for you?

Well we can definitely help you with that question!

In our quest to design the perfect baby sling we started by conducting our own research into the world of baby wearing and the types of baby sling carriers that are available.

We personally wanted to know what makes one better over the other and wanted to incorporate all the must have features we believe that makes our baby sling carriers the best on the market.

Consider the baby bjorn carrier type of slings which also include the mei tie carriers as they are similar in design. These incorporate straps and/or buckles and in our personal opinion don't allow for the baby to be in a comfortable nursing position for newborns. Other types of baby sling carriers include long wraps and ring slings which when testing for ourselves we found to be cumbersome.

We felt that these types of baby sling carriers were not right for us and not in tune with our key design elements which are:

Safety - We loved the idea of a baby pouch as it doesn't incorporate any loose parts, is a continuous loop of fabric and we included a triple stitched seam and reinforced edges for extra safety so there is no chance of anything breaking.

Function - Then we made sure that the Joey Sling is functional in its unique design of shape. A carefully designed pouch which is not too shallow or too deep as some others - many samples were created to get this aspect just right! We also added a convenient pocket at the front for tissues or muslin and little loop to attach baby's dummy.

Comfort - We then added cotton padding for baby's comfort when in sitting in the hip position.

Support - We made sure that our baby slings are wide enough to allow for good back support for both wearer and baby.

Compact - We wanted the Joey Sling to be compact enough to fold and fit in a nappy bag easily.

Style - We felt just because you are using a functional product does not mean you have to look like you are wearing a potato sack. We have the most funkylicious designs (some of which are exclusive to Joey Sling) to make any mama a fashionista!

Quality - Our fabrics are of the highest quality made from high quality cotton and cotton blend of 2% spandex. We tested our baby sling carriers on many different fabrics and have selected what we believe to be the best. They are high quality, soft and durable without being heavy or rough. Our reversible slings are made from 100% cotton and our single sided stretch slings are made from beautiful mercerised stretch drill - a process which strengthens the fabric and gives it softness and a gorgeous lustre. We will never use cheaper or lower quality fabrics!

We reserve the right:

  • to cancel any order, at which time, we will immediately notify this action by e-mail or phone, using the e-mail address or number/s provided. We will refund if any monies paid using the original method received.
  • to take reasonable steps to verify that the order and credit details are bona fide.

All orders are subject to availability of stock.

All colours of products/baby sling carriers are presented as accurately as possible however a slight variation may occur in colour due to the different settings of an individual's computer screen or as a result of lighting within the photo displayed.

When placing an order, it is the purchaser's responsibility to ensure that all details conveyed in the order are correct & true.

NEWSLETTER

How do I sign up for the newsletter?
To sign up to our newsletters, click on the newsletter icon on our home page. Enter all of your details which will then be added to our database. Newsletters are sent every month to registered subscribers and contains information about us, our latest ranges of baby sling carriers, special offers and promotions.

How do I remove my name from the newsletter distribution list?
You can be removed from the newsletter distribution list by sending an e-mail to enquiries@joeysling.com.au. You can also reply to a newsletter you have received stating that you would like to be taken off the distribution list just by typing unsubscribe in the subject line.

WHOLESALE

How do I become a stockist?
To become an online or retail stockist of Joey Sling baby carriers you will need to submit your details for approval by Joey Sling, either done online or a form can be sent on request.

If your submission is approved, you will receive a “Wholesale pack” and a wholesale login and password to make orders online. Wholesale order forms are available to be sent in pdf format.

SHOPPING

Do I need to register my details to purchase from Joey Sling?
No. You can purchase from our store without registering your details. If you do register your details there is no need to re-enter contact details when making future purchases.

What if the baby sling I have purchased does not fit me?
Please utilise our sizing guide to assist you with sizing when ordering baby slings. We are happy to help you over the phone or by email to assist with sizing. If you purchase the wrong size and require your sling to be changed to a different size, please email sales@joeysling.com.au prior to sending your baby sling back so we can assist with the sizing. Slings being returned must be clean and unworn and meet our Returns and Exchange policy listed on this page.

Is the item I am purchasing available?
Our website uses a stock management inventory and only displays quantity of in stock items.
If for any reason there is an error in our system and the item you have purchased is not available, we will be in contact with you via email and provide you with 3 alternatives:

  • Receive a refund for the item you have purchased
  • If restocking is going to be made available, we will inform you of delivery timeframe
  • Allow you to select a different baby sling in our range

Once you have proceeded through checkout, you will receive an email from Joey Sling confirming your order and the availability of the item you have purchased.

Do you have a catalogue?
Our ranges and styles are subject to change as new items are made available for sale. Everything available is listed on our website with photos and general descriptions.

How do I use my Discount code?
Once you have selected the items you wish to purchase and have added them to your cart, proceed to checkout and submit your details. At the bottom of the checkout process, there will be an area clearly visible for you to enter your discount or coupon code.  
If the code you have entered is not a valid one, you will be notified of this during checkout process. If you continue to receive an error when trying to enter your code, this could mean that the coupon code has expired or you have entered the code incorrectly. If you believe you have a valid code and are not able to enter your code, please contact us via email and we will confirm the validity of your code.
Note: This area can also be used for redeeming gift vouchers.

How do I add an item to my cart?
Once you have decided the item/s you wish to purchase, select your size and enter the quantity.  Next select the "Buy" button Baby Sling Carriers Buy Nowto add your item to the shopping cart.

How do I know an item has been added to my cart?
Once you have clicked on the "Buy" button to place the item in your shopping cart, your page will refresh and the item will be added to your cart.  You can then locate the shopping cart basket on the refreshed screen or click on the Baby Sling Carriersbutton on top of the screen to return to your shopping cart.

How do I get to checkout?
Once you have completed all of your purchases, click on the “Your Shopping Cart” Baby Sling Carriers  button on top of the screen to take you to checkout.

How do I delete an item from my cart?
When viewing your "shopping cart", you will see a Qty dropdown box next to each item.  Select the item/s to delete, and change the Qty for each of these item/s to zero. Your shopping cart will automatically remove each item you do this for.

When will my Credit Card be charged?
Your credit card is charged immediately on purchase, if your card can not be charged for whatever reason, the goods you ordered will not be sent.

How can I modify or cancel my order?
Most of our orders are shipped within 24 hours of confirmation of payment. If you need to modify or cancel your order, please contact us immediately via email or telephone to confirm if order has been shipped. Only orders that have not been processed /shipped may be modified or cancelled. Once an order is processed it cannot be cancelled.

Is it safe to order online?
We take security extremely seriously so that you can shop with us in complete confidence. Your communication with our server is very secure.

Joey Sling uses ANZ Internet Payment Gateway to provide a secure environment for the authorisation of credit card transactions over the Internet. Confidential information including customer credit card details are encrypted the moment they are transmitted from the customer's browser to the banking network using industry standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) 128-bit RC4 encryption technology. To be sure that you are engaged in a secure session, ensure that the URL in your browsers address bar starts with https:// and that a padlock can be seen at the bottom (or top right) of the browser window, indicating that you are in a secure session.

PAYMENT

What form of payments do you accept?
Joey Sling accepts Visa, Master Card credit cards, debit cards and Direct Debit Deposit (in AUD). We do not accept cash, cheques, money orders or CODs.

Deposit payment directly – which can be conveniently done via the internet, or over-the-counter - into Joey Sling's business bank account. Please email sales@joeysling.com.au to advise of payment and reference ID so that we can proceed with your order.

Please note that funds that have been electronically processed need to be cleared by the bank, and until the funds are visible in Joey Sling’s bank account, the order will not be shipped. Please clearly state your invoice number in the description of the transaction.

Can I order over the phone with my Credit Card?
Absolutely. Please call 1300 780 010 and we will go through your order and can process credit card transactions over the phone.

Does my purchase price include GST?
Prices displayed on this website are inclusive of GST (Goods and Services Tax) applied at the rate of 10% for purchases made within Australia. If the purchase is made outside of Australia, no GST will be charged for your order.

International purchasers: you are responsible for any taxes, duties or other liabilities imposed by any governmental agency, including without limitation, any customs duty, goods and services taxes or any value added tax imposed on any products or services acquired or ordered by you from this website.

Are further taxes applicable to my purchase?
Most countries allow free trade over the internet and will not charge any customs duty whatsoever for small packages entering the country. International purchasers are responsible to  check with their local tax laws in relation to taxable items.

SHIPPING

When is my order processed?
Most orders are processed within 24 hours and shipped within 48 hours based on availability of stock. If this timeframe cannot be met for any reason, a notification email will be sent.

Orders placed on Friday will be processed on the following Monday. We do not process orders on Saturdays, Sundays or Public Holidays.
The delivery times below are indicative only and Joey Sling will not be liable for any failure to observe these delivery times.

  • Deliveries within Australia – $8.00 flat rate express post: 2-3 working days
  • Deliveries outside Australia – additional postage and requires quote: 10 -25 working days

Joey Sling delivers nation wide via Australia Post.   All purchases made within Australia will incur a flat rate postage fee of $8.00 for express post.  For international deliveries, please confirm the shipping cost of your product before completing your checkout process by contacting us.
Joey Sling is not responsible for any lost or stolen international packages.

Where do you ship to?
We can have your items posted to home, business addresses as well as PO Boxes and also cater for international deliveries. If you can have regular mail delivered to the address you have provided, usually we should be able to ship out to the same address.

If your order is to be posted to hospital as a gift for a new mum, please be certain that the recipient will still be in hospital on the day that delivery is to be made. If there is a chance that the recipient will be discharged from hospital we recommend that you request postage to their home. Joey Sling will not be responsible for redirection postage costs and does not guarantee any delivery timeframes.

All orders will be posted to the address provided by the customer at checkout.

GIFT VOUCHERS

Do you sell gift VOUCHERS?
Yes we do. We sell them in $25 and $50 denominations. If you require a denomination other than these (eg for total cost of sling), please send an email to sales@joeysling.com.au and we will try to accommodate your needs.

How do I redeem gift VOUCHERS?
The process for redeeming a gift voucher is the same as using a coupon code. The code on the gift voucher is entered during the last step of the checkout process.  Your invoice will automatically be updated based on the code you have entered on your gift voucher.

When redeeming a Joey Sling gift voucher, you must use the entire balance of the gift voucher at once.  You can not carry the remainder of the voucher value forward. You can only use one Joey Sling gift voucher per purchase.

Joey Sling gift vouchers are valid for 6 months & can only be redeemed through our on-line store.  The expiry date and redeemable amount can be found on your gift voucher.

Joey Sling gift vouchers are not accepted as a method of payment in other (online or retail) stores.

Joey Sling gift vouchers cannot be redeemed for cash.

Lost and stolen gift vouchers will not be replaced or refunded.

Once the Joey Sling gift voucher has been redeemed, it cannot be reused.

RETURNS & EXCHANGES

What is your return/exchange policy?
For all exchanges and returns please contact us for authorisation of refund or exchange.

Returns and exchanges are only accepted if returned within 14 days from purchase date (international customers will be granted an extension at the discretion of Joey Sling).

If you are not sure of size, please email us at sales@joeysling.com.au prior to purchasing and we can advise the best sling size for you.
All returned items must abide by the following conditions:

    1. Must be authorised by Joey Sling before return can be made. Please attach authorisation email we send to you when sending item/s.
    2. All items being returned must be in a new/unused condition, free from stains, odours (eg sweat, perfume, deodorant, smoke), hair etc and must not be altered in any way
    3. All items must be in original packaging
    4. Must not be a sale or discount item
    5. Proof of purchase/receipt must be made available
    6. Customer is responsible for shipping and handling charges to return products to Joey Sling and for all shipping and handling charges for exchanged items to be sent back to customer.
    7. Items must have been purchased from our Internet site. If a Joey Sling product has been purchased from a retailer or other online stores, you must contact them direct.
    8. Returned items will be refunded using the same method used to make payment for the order less postage costs.
    9. If the product you are returning was included as part of a special offer, the additional item(s) must also be returned, or you may choose to have the cost subtracted from your refund.
    10. Any return may void a multiple purchase discount.
    11. Returns must be sent prepaid.
    12. For products that cannot be replaced due to unavailability, an alternative product or a full refund will be offered.

If the returned item/s do not abide by these conditions, Joey Sling reserves the right to refuse any credit or exchange. If any item is returned to Joey Sling without prior authorisation and does not meet criteria above a refund will not be processed. Such item/s will be sent back to purchaser at purchaser’s expense.

Exchange and return policies are subject to change without notice.

How do I make a return or exchange?
Please ensure that the item you have purchased is eligible for a refund as part of our refund policy. Send an email to sales@joeysling.com.au to confirm initial eligibility. Attach the email from Joey Sling with the returned item/s. Upon receipt, inspection & approval of your returned merchandise, we will process your exchange. If an item is to be refunded, you will be refunded using the same method used to make payment for the order less postage costs. If you are exchanging, we will ship the new product to you once postage payment has been confirmed.   Joey Sling will not be responsible for returned packages lost, stolen or damaged in transit.

When will my payment be refunded?
Depending on your payment method, your refund should be made within 1-2 weeks of receipt of returned goods. You will be notified via email when your return has been processed.

All refunds will be less postage and handling price unless product was proven to be faulty.
